Math 3 Updates
This week we are finishing up our practice with division and assessing the learners. 3rd graders are moving into their new unit on Fractions. This is a great Unit! We will work with fractions on the numberline. We will also work toward understanding equivalent fractions. The goal at the end of the Unit is for learners to understand how to compare fractions.

Third graders have been exploring multiplication and division in relation to real-world situations. They have created their own story problems using arrays. We are also assessing learners this week in preparation for our next Unit. Please assist learners at home by practicing math facts- multiplication facts up to 12 and addition facts up to 10.
Learners begin exploring division by using partial quotients and practicing real-world division word problems. We will focus on multiplying and dividing as well as fact families so students notice patterns. Learners will learn about division as repeated subtraction.
Learners were introduced to the associative property. We continue learning about associative property, arrays and groupings as well as repeated addition to show multiplication. Learners are completing their interdisciplinary projects at this time which has to do with creating math problems based on animal adaptations. If you want to help at home you can practice drawing pictures to represent multiplication problems.
