Learners will review before taking their Unit 6 assessment on Tuesday. They will use a shape to create a picture of a real life object and partition it into equal parts and identify the unit fraction. Learners will also create a picture on the computer using only line segments to create polygons. This will be the final week for fractions and polygons. Next week we will start our final unit, Unit 7 on measurement and data!
Learners combine their knowledge of fractions and polygons this week. After completing their timelines linked to the autobiographical project in Humanities, learners explore polygons by partitioning them into equal parts. Learners will use worksheets, geoboards, pattern blocks, and even colorful liquid in a cup to explore how whole shapes or containers can be split into equal pieces represented by a fraction.
