Math 3 Updates
Third graders continue exploring place value with a focus on rounding. We will also review counting my 2's, 5's and 10's. We have been teaching effective note taking- building our math notebook table of contents and learning academic vocabulary in relation to place value. Students have been playing place value games and working with base ten blocks to explore ones, tens and hundreds. You can help as home by practicing skip counting and practicing addition facts up to 10. Just a reminder that Back to School Night is this Wednesday, August 31st. We hope to see you there!

Welcome to rotation! We are so happy to have a new bunch of learners in our classes. The 3rd graders begin the year in Unit 1: Place Value. Here we will learn how to use academic language in relation to place value such as expanded notation, base ten, word form and number form. Students will learn how to manipulate numbers to make larger numbers based on their place value. We will use base ten blocks (cheese cubes, cheese sticks and cheese slices) to explore numbers. Please don't hesitate to email Ms. Ezell or myself (Ms. Rebecca) if you have questions or concerns about your student in Math. We look forward to a great year!
