Math 3 Updates
Learners continue learning about graphing. They complete their pictographs and will be exposed to other graphs such as line graphs.. We will also explore area and perimeter before Spring Break. Common Core sheets has skill building practice for over the break. You can search under grade level or subject. Links can be found on the website under facilitator pages. We will be sending home a Spring Break practice packet for our learners. This is optional enrichment and will not receive a grade.

Third graders continue estimating measurements of capacity and mass. We will begin measurement by use of graphs. We will practice collecting data in a chart, graphing a bar graph and interpreting data on a graph. Please remind learners that volume and capacity are ways we measure liquid and that we must always use a unit when measuring. For example, 6 ft. or 6 mL. Labeling the unit helps us better understand measurement and conversion.
We're moving through our Measurement unit from elapsed time to estimating volume and mass. Learners will distinguish if certain containers are more likely to be measured with milliliters or liters, and will estimate how much water from container can fit into another. They will also estimate the mass of an object using grams. Learners will continue to review telling time on an analog clock and elapsed time throughout the week.
