3rd Grade humanities
This week, learners will participate in activities guided by the following questions: What are rules/laws? Why are they important? Learners will participate in democratic scenarios as they think critically about the process the Founding Fathers went through in creating the Constitution. Also, learners will consider what Writers' Workshop should look like, feel like, and sound like as they collaborate to create our Writers' Workshop agreements.

Welcome back! We are so excited to work with your learner this year. Please use this page to stay updated on the topics, activities, and projects we are focusing on each week in 3rd grade humanities.
This week, learners will organize their humanities notebook, and consider the different types of writing they do or see every day. We know that writing can be a daunting task for some learners, and hope for them to understand that they are already writers! Learners will create heart maps that highlight things that are important to them and can be used as inspiration for their writing throughout the year. We will introduce/review Writer's Workshop structure (mini lesson, independent work/conferencing, sharing) and learners will engage in this process through a short narrative writing piece on one of the topics from their heart map. |
