math 4 Updates
We will begin our class rotations this week. With that, I look forward to getting to know each learner as we begin exploring the world of numbers. We will be setting up personal math notebooks, which will become an ongoing portfolio of the year's work. Our first unit is Place Value. This will be a critical area that will serve as a foundation to the math lessons ahead.

Happy Aloha Friday! Welcome to 4th grade Homeroom and Math for the Molina Rotation. My name is Mr. Ayala and I am excited to work with you this 2015- 2016 school year. We have an excellent team that includes Ms. Leah facilitating science and Mr. Chris facilitating Humanities. Although I am new to Nea, I have 15+ years teaching experience. In my role as the Math and/or Homeroom Facilitator, your child's academic and social development is my top priority. Through weekly communication I aim to keep you informed about curricular topics and activities.
With the first week of the new school year now officially over, we are off to a great start! My Homeroom 4th grade learners are an impressive group -- individually as well as collectively. I also have enjoyed meeting some of the parents and families of our class. Hopefully in your regular, daily talks with your child, s/he has shared with you how the focus of these first few days has been on understanding our school expectations and class routines. While academic lessons will begin to take shape with our rotations next week, please know that this first week was an instrumental opportunity for learners to have a gradual transition to the year ahead. As such, I am very honored to be your child's Math/Homeroom facilitator. Together, by collaborating closely with the other Facilitators and each learner's respective parent(s)/guardian(s), I am hopeful that your child finds great success and enjoyment this year. |
