We’ll be starting our new unit on soils, rocks, and landforms. This week, learners will observe different soils to understand what makes up soil and how soils differ. They’ll also begin to look at the process of physical weathering.
Fourth graders will create a marble race lab by changing one variable (slope, starting point, mass).
Fourth graders will explore “How does the starting position affect the speed of a ball rolling down a ramp?”
Fourth graders will explore “What do we observe that provides evidence that energy is present?”
Fourth graders will continue to answer the question “How can you reinvent the telegraph using your knowledge of energy and electromagnetism?” and learn about Morse Code.
Fourth graders will explore “How does the number of winds of wire around a core affect the strength of the magnetism?”
Fourth graders will continue to explore “How can you turn a steel rivet into magnets that turns on and off?” and design electromagnets.
Fourth graders will answer the question “How can you turn a steel rivet into magnets that turns on and off?” and design electromagnets.
