4th Grade Science Updates
This week, learners will wrap up their life science unit with a reflection on what they learned and they’ll finish their section for our vermicomposting book project. We’ll also start our new unit on physical science which focuses on electricity and magnetism. Learners will explore light bulbs and figure out what is needed to light a bulb.

Fourth graders will conclude their investigation of the early growth of plants in different environments by recording one last time and reading an article about the range of tolerance of plants. Learners will review for and take their 2nd benchmark of the year and on Friday, Stop Waste will come in one last time to help out with the 4Rs.
Fourth graders will work on their vermicomposting project this week. They’ll conduct research using a list of links to write their section of our class book on vermicomposting. On Friday, Angelina from Stop Waste will guest present on vermicomposting and the 4Rs!
This week, learners will continue studying saltwater environments and learn about range of tolerance for plants that they grow with fresh and saltwater. We’ll also begin to conduct research for our second trimester interdisciplinary project on vermicomposting!
