4th Grade Science Updates
This week 4th graders will observe their long term results of the investigation they did on Friday. The will try to figure out how to further separate their mock rocks and read an article on mock rocks to learn the difference between rocks and minerals. Later in the week, we’ll observe minerals, read about them and perform a scratch test to try to identify them.

This week learners will continue building their circuit-quiz boards on Monday and Tuesday and challenge each other on Wednesday with their quizzes. On Thursday, learners will start their new unit on rocks and minerals. We’ll see what they already know about rocks and minerals and observe “mock rocks” to find out what makes up a rock and a mineral.
This week we will review electromagnets and start a mini project where learners will create mini quiz board circuits to test each others knowledge. We will review the unit and then have our third benchmark on Friday.
This week 4th graders will read a summary article about circuits, build a telegraph with their table group and create their own code to communicate with it. On Wednesday, they’ll use their code to communicate messages across the room using their telegraph. On Thursday, they’ll start to build a quizboard using their knowledge of circuits. No school Friday!
