4th Grade Science Updates
This week fourth graders will be learning about electromagnets. They will find out what they are and what all the necessary components are and then they will build them. They will read about the real-world uses for electromagnets. They will do virtual and hands-on investigations of what affects the strength of an electromagnet and they will make digital graphs of the results.

Fourth graders will continue exploring magnetism. This week, we’ll focus on figuring out how to measure the strength of our magnets. Learners will record their data and graph their findings. They’ll read about some practical uses of magnets throughout history and complete an exit ticket on the strength of magnets.
This week 4th graders will shift from electricity over to magnets. We’ll explore what things are attracted to magnets and how to induce magnetism. We’ll explore the magnetic field and see how strong it is. We’ll make compases and see how they work.
