Fourth graders will explore the question ”In nature, what is the mechanism that selects the individuals that will breed to produce offspring in a population? “ and be able to “Describe what is meant by “a change in the environment might apply a new pressure on a population.”

Ben Schleifer, the 4Rs SAP Project Leader, from StopWaste.org will be speaking to the fourth graders about reducing school waste and using resources efficiently. StopWaste.org is a public agency governed by the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board, and the Energy Council.
Fourth graders will continue their investigation of “How can we find out if salinity affects brine shrimp hatching?” The learners will test the viability of brine shrimp eggs and make a conclusion about salt concentration and hatching success.
